Hi
POSTCARDS
I am in the process of moving my gallery
http://www.seiz.ch/gallery/
over to
http://gallery.seiz.ch/
A feature that gallery visitors like a lot is the postcard delivery.
In 1995, long before most other web based postcard services, I added
this feature to my site.
Now you can send postcards from webtruck.org. Just go to the
RemoteCam, TrackCam, PassageCam or Unimog picture gallery,
and from there you can pick any picture, add comment, and send it
as a email.
The email will not contain the picture, but a html postcard with a link to
the picture. I am a victim of people sending me unwanted attachments, so I
chose to do it that way.
Pictures in the various galleries are updated every 5 minutes, so you might
have to wait a bit to see the pictures you expect after you went for a
drive.
One of the roughly 350 members (*) sent me a snail mail postcard for the new
year - you can see it on the whiteboard left above the TruckBox (20:03),
thank you tom.
AUDIO what do your hear?
some truck drivers asked me about the weird sounds they hear on
http://www.webtruck.org/util/sound_html?FileURL=http://audio.webtruck.org:8000/live
(that is http://audio.webtruck.org:8000/live in WinAmp)
the source of this stream is a microphone in the TruckBox.
- when the truck is driving, you can hear loud noise for every move.
- when I listen to music, radio or watch TV, you can hear that as well
- when work on my computer, you'll hear me typing
- when I'm not there, and the music is off, you'll hear the audible realtime
feedback I added to my webserver: every page hit will produce a click,
logins of registered drivers produces a cash register like sound,
other sounds indicate Unimog or WebTruck access
POLL
I want to give you an opportunity to tell me where to go with webtruck.org,
so I set up another poll with six questions: http://www.webtruck.org/poll/
This time voting is for registered members only.
you can find the results of the previous poll here:

To those who wanted to drive CyberMaster: sorry, not enough space here...
I'll take the CyberMaster kit home and let my eight year old play with it :-)
Thanks for your encouraging comments after my last email - I live on
feedback :-)
WebTruck
(*) what, 350 members? I know there are too many - I will start to delete
those who did not log in for more than 3 months or so....
PS: some of the WebTruck members seem to be affected by the w32.sobig.A@mm virus.
This virus is in the wild since January 9th and sends out emails
with the sender big@boss.com - I got many of these
